Realignment ensures that your uPVC door continues to work effectively.
It is common for uPVC doors to become misaligned through constant, excessive use, causing screws and hinges to loosen over time. Often uPVC doors may even need realigning shortly after being installed to ensure that the lock is well lubricated and all screws tightened correctly.
Misalignment can cause significant damage to a uPVC door and the mechanism within it. When the misalignment reaches an excessive stage, wear to the central gearbox becomes evident, e.g. the handles become loose and floppy (most people assume that the spring has strained in the handles at this stage).
Scenarios where your uPVC door may need realignment:
- The door is open and will not physically close
- The door will close but it will be impossible to lift the handles and lock the door
- The door is locked or unlocked closed but will not open
If confronted with any of the scenarios above, then Williams Locksmith Bristol have the expertise, experience, tools, spares and techniques to remedy most problems. We carry an extensive stock of MPL (multi point locking mechanisms) and central gearbox cases along with various keeps and strikes, that enables us to offer a service to fully overhaul Upvc doors and render them usable and as secure as when they were first installed.
